The Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) is more than a hydroelectric project—it is a symbol of unity, resilience, and national pride. For MG Consultancy, GERD represents a generational mission that transcends infrastructure. It embodies our unwavering dedication to Ethiopia’s progress, sovereignty, and collective future.
From the earliest stages of the dam’s conception, MG Consultancy stood as a socially responsible firm and a committed citizen. We mobilized our staff and partner organizations to contribute financially, including organizing severance payment collections to purchase bonds in support of the dam’s construction. This was not just a gesture—it was a declaration of belief in Ethiopia’s potential.
In 2007 EC, MG Consultancy conducted a post-election evaluation research project in collaboration with UNDP and the Ethiopian Electoral Board. As part of the consultancy work presentation, our team visited the GERD site, witnessing firsthand the foundational work that would one day become a national landmark. That moment deepened our resolve and strengthened our connection to the dam’s legacy.
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all who made this achievement possible—visionary national leaders, dedicated engineers (including the late Eng. Simegnew Bekele, whose legacy continues to inspire), and the thousands of workers whose hands built history.
GERD is not just a dam. It is a testament to what Ethiopians can accomplish together. MG Consultancy is honored to have played a role in this journey, and we remain committed to advancing Ethiopia’s development through training, research, and strategic partnerships.
