MG Consultancy Successfully Completes Post-Distribution Monitoring for Mih Lewetatoch Yebego Adragot Mahiber (MIH)

Addis Ababa, October 2026

MG Consultancy has successfully completed an independent evaluation of the relevance, quality and effectiveness of the Emergency Shelter and Non-Food Items (ESNFI) assistance that Mih Lewetatoch Yebego Adragot Mahiber (MIH) delivered to displaced and vulnerable households in Alidoro 01 and Ambisso 01 kebeles, Ethiopia.

The assignment was a Post-Distribution Monitoring (PDM) under the Shelter, Land and Site Coordination (SLSC) Cluster response. It assessed whether the assistance reached the intended households, met their priority needs, and was delivered safely, respectfully and accountably.

What we delivered

  • An evaluation framework combining survey data and interviews, built on the five standard international (OECD-DAC) criteria: relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, sustainability and impact
  • A survey of 167 beneficiary households, collected on tablets using KoBo Toolbox, with quality checks as the data came in
  • Key informant interviews, direct observation, and documentation of beneficiaries’ own experiences
  • Analysis of targeting, timeliness, access, protection, housing, land and property, accountability to affected communities, and environmental impact
  • A final report with clear findings, charts and prioritized, practical recommendations

Ethical, high-quality practice

Our experts carried out the work in line with humanitarian principles and research ethics. Participation was voluntary and every respondent gave informed consent. We protected confidentiality and personal data. Interviews with women, older persons, persons with disabilities and other vulnerable groups were conducted with particular care for their safety. Trained data collectors, built-in checks on the tablets and daily data review kept the evidence accurate and reliable.

Client satisfaction

MIH has formally expressed its satisfaction with the quality, professionalism and timeliness of MG Consultancy’s work.

The findings give MIH a strong evidence base to strengthen protection at distributions, improve its shelter assistance package and widen its feedback channels. The aim is that future assistance reaches affected families more safely and effectively.
